Video tools that do one job well

Compress, resize, convert, trim or crop a video in your browser. Drop a file, pick a setting, download the result. No account and no watermark. Files are deleted automatically.

Files are deleted automatically after 60 minutes.

Quick settings
Compression

Light keeps the most detail. Strong gives the smallest file.

Lowering the resolution is the most effective way to shrink a large video. Smaller videos are never upscaled.

Compression that tells you what it did

A video file is mostly picture data, and its size depends on three things: how many pixels each frame has, how many bits the encoder spends on each second, and how efficient the codec is. The compressor re-encodes your video with H.264, the format every phone, browser and editing app can play, and lets you trade detail for size with one choice.

When the job finishes you see the original and new sizes side by side. If a video was already tightly compressed, the new file can come out larger. When that happens we say so plainly instead of handing you a worse file.

Compress a video Why files sometimes grow

What each setting changes
Compression level
Bits per second spent on detail. “Strong” removes fine texture first.
Maximum resolution
1080p has 2.25× the pixels of 720p. Dropping a step usually saves the most space.
Remove the sound
Audio is often 5–10% of a phone video. Useful for silent clips and background loops.

Change the format or the size

Convert between MP4, WebM, MOV and MKV

When your video already uses a compatible codec, the converter copies the streams into the new container. That takes seconds and loses nothing. Otherwise it re-encodes to H.264 for MP4, MOV and MKV, or to VP9 with Opus audio for WebM.

Resize without stretching

Pick 1080p, 720p, 480p or 360p, or type exact dimensions. The picture keeps its shape by default. Choose “Exact size” to add black bars instead of distorting it. Vertical phone videos automatically get the vertical version of each size.

Keep just the audio

Extract a soundtrack, interview or lecture as MP3, M4A or uncompressed WAV. The video track is dropped, so the file is a fraction of the size.

What happens when you press the button

  1. Upload

Your file is sent over an encrypted connection and saved under a random name in private storage. The original file name is never used on the server.

  2. Check

FFprobe reads the file to confirm it is a real video within the limits. Anything else is rejected with a clear reason.

  3. Process

FFmpeg runs with fixed settings for the tool you chose. You see real progress while it works, measured from the encoder’s position in the video.

  4. Verify

The result is written to a temporary file, then checked again with FFprobe. Only a complete, readable file is offered for download.

  5. Delete

Your upload is deleted when processing ends. The result is deleted after 60 minutes, or straight away if you ask.

Temporary by design

We do not keep a library of your videos and there are no accounts to tie them to. Each job gets a random identifier and a private access key that only your browser session knows. Without both, nobody can see the status or download the result, including someone who guesses a link.

Server logs record the tool, file size and duration of each job, never file names or content. The full details are in the privacy policy.

  • Uploads are deleted when the job ends; results after 60 minutes.
  • Downloads need your session and a one-time key.
  • Files are stored outside the public web folder and never executed.
  • “Delete files now” removes everything immediately.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Every tool on this site is free to use within the limits shown in the upload area. There is no account, no watermark and nothing to install.

What are the limits?

Each upload can be up to 200 MB and 10 minutes long, up to 4K resolution. Results are capped at 1920 pixels on the longest side. Videos are processed one at a time, so you may wait briefly when others are ahead of you.

What happens to my video after I upload it?

It is stored in a private folder that is not reachable from the web, processed by FFmpeg, and deleted as soon as the job finishes. The result is kept for 60 minutes so you can download it, then deleted automatically. You can also delete it immediately with the “Delete files now” button.

Which formats can I upload?

MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV, AVI, MPEG, WMV, 3GP, OGV and FLV. Each file is checked with FFprobe before processing, so a damaged file or one that is not really a video is rejected with an explanation.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The pages work on mobile browsers, and you can upload videos straight from your camera roll. Large uploads over mobile data can take a while, so Wi-Fi is better for long clips.

Why is processing not instant?

Video is processed on the server, not in your browser. Re-encoding takes real computing time, roughly proportional to the length and resolution of the video. Tools that can copy streams without re-encoding, like fast trimming or MOV to MP4 conversion of H.264 files, finish in seconds.
